About PatientKnowlogy

PatientKnowlogy (pay-shent-nah-luh-jee) creator, Renise Vasquez, became disabled due to medical errors that occurred during two back-to-back ACL surgeries. For years, she was without options to treat her condition because doctors refused to treat her. Once she found help, Renise relied heavily on the opinions of doctors to tell her exactly what to do with her body. Even after ten surgeries, the doctors were recommending more.

She realized that there was a huge disconnect between herself and her doctors. Her goal was to heal her body, while her doctors were only interested in treating her symptoms. Instead of advocating for herself, she took any advice she was given, due to a lack of knowledge. As a result, she found herself losing sight of her health goals and her body.

After self-educating herself about her condition, she was able to take back her power as a patient and take control of her health.  Along her journey, Renise has met many patients like herself—patients looking for hope and direction. These encounters are how she discovered that PatientKnowlogy is needed.

PatientKnowlogy is a community where EVERYONE is welcomed to share their health journeys, ask questions, and gain knowledge. The goal of PatientKnowlogy is to educate patients and connect them with industry professionals who will be sharing tips, tools, resources, and knowledge that will empower patients to take control of their health. We will cover physical, mental, and financial health (and anything in between, as it relates to healthcare).
